Yesterday our group did our third run around bachman lake. I forgot to bring my garmin again to see for sure how far we are running, but the internet says the trail around the lake is 3.3 miles and who am I to argue with the internet! I did wear a stopwatch this time and was able to get around the lake in 29.18….so thats about a little under a 9 min pace…pretty slow, but I feel a little bit faster each time we run. Ill prolly keep around the same pace next week and then start trying to set benchmarks. Running with a group is very nice and I am glad we started running now before it starts getting hotter out. Hopefully we will have some nice endurance going before then.
I have also been good about sticking to my push up regimen. Every weekday while at work, every 45 minutes I am now able to do 10 normal push ups (non-stop!!), 10 sets of 15 second leg lifts and 10 10lb curls, shoulder lifts and vertical extensions!! I am averaging about 10 sets a day now, so thats 100 of everything every day! Its awesome to see how in just 2 weeks I have been able to go from only being able to do 3 pushups to the full 10. I am going to do the same sets for another week and then increase my reps from 10 to 20 and see how things go.

Well, the pushups and situps, while still painful, are getting easier. I at least have strength enought to do pushups normally now. I still cant quite do 10 in a row…i can get about 7, wait 10 seconds and then finish the set. Situps are still the hardest, but I can do about 6 before I am reduced to leg lifts.
Yesterday I ran with some guys from work around bachman lake. It was about 3.2 miles and the weather was excellent! We did surprisingly well for not running in about 6 months. I was able to complete the circuit without walking, but was running about a 10min/mile pace…so not really much to brag about there. Running will hopefully be routine on tuesday and thursday afternoons. We will start incorporating stair climbs on mwf prolly next week!

Wow! Arms, chest, abs and back are soooo sore. Still reduced to doing granny pushups, and cant even do a correct situp. I have also encorporated 15 lb dumb-bell curls and presses to go along with the situps and pushups. If I am unable to do a situp, then i do a leg lift for 10 seconds in its place. I am hoping that this gets easier by this time next week!
